A private care ritual

His hair.
His beard.
Your hands.

A simple, consistent ritual for softness, shine, and a calm scalp. The point is care, not a miracle cure. Keep it gentle. Do it well. Repeat it for months.

Start this week

The one ruleEvery essential oil is diluted. If skin reacts, stop. Comfort comes before the ritual.

01 / The shelf

Buy the few things that make the ritual work.

Order matters. Start with the base ritual, then add scent and softness only once the scalp is happy.

The foundation

  1. 01
Rosemary essential oilA ritual priority. Evidence for hair regrowth is limited; never treat it as a replacement for diagnosing thinning.
  2. 02
Raw apple cider vinegar — with the motherFor the diluted rinse. If it stings, skip it; comfort matters more than the step.
  3. 03
Organic virgin coconut oilFor the weekly mask on hair lengths and a short beard treatment.
  4. 04
Pure aloe vera gelInner-leaf gel, no fragrance or alcohol. Light hydration for the mask.
02 / The bottles

One gentle blend for the scalp. One for the beard.

These recipes deliberately start at a low dilution for leave-on use. A stronger tingle is not a stronger result.

Softness + skin care
03 / The week

Small acts, done often. Two wash days. One deep reset.

Hair does not need daily shampooing. Massage and gentle handling are the daily constants.

Monday

Massage

5–10 minutes. Focus on the front hairline. Apply a few drops of scalp oil only if the scalp feels comfortable.

Tuesday

Softness

Massage. A touch of argan or jojoba on dry ends only. Beard: oil + brush.

Wednesday

Clear + reset

Pre-wash oil for 30–90 min. Tea Tree shampoo. Diluted ACV rinse. Cool rinse.

Thursday

Massage

Scalp massage. Beard oil into the skin beneath. Comb gently.

Friday

Leave it alone

Massage only. No hot tools. No tight pulling. Let the scalp be quiet.

Saturday

Softness

Massage. Beard oil + brush. Check for dryness or irritation before adding anything.

Sunday

Deep reset

Mask first. Rosemary shampoo. Diluted ACV rinse. Air dry with patience.

04 / Wash days

Not more product. Better sequence.

Lukewarm water. Gentle hands. Cool final rinse. The rhythm below works for Wednesday and Sunday.

Hair

Wash-day ritual

  1. Pre-wash. Massage scalp oil in for at least 5 minutes. Leave for 30–90 minutes. Overnight only if the skin has already tolerated it.
  2. Shampoo. Alternate Avalon Tea Tree for dandruff-focused days and Avalon Rosemary for a lighter, volumised wash.
  3. Rinse. Mix 1 tbsp ACV with 1–2 cups water. Massage in briefly, leave 1 minute, then rinse cool. Stop if it burns.
  4. Finish. Pat dry. Use a trace of argan or jojoba on dry ends only. Air dry.
Sunday only

Deep hair mask

  1. Warm, never hot. Mix 2 tbsp coconut oil + 1 tbsp honey + 1 tbsp plain aloe gel.
  2. Apply. Put most of it through the lengths. Go lightly at the scalp; avoid an irritated scalp entirely.
  3. Wait. 30–45 minutes is enough. Then shampoo and use the ACV rinse only if it feels good.
  4. Keep it simple. No essential oils in this mask. The oils are already in the leave-on ritual.
05 / Beard

The skin underneath is the work.

Softness and appearance improve when the oil reaches skin first, then gets distributed through the beard.

Every day

Three-minute beard care

  1. Cleanse lightly. Water is enough most days. A small amount of Tea Tree shampoo only 2–3 times per week if it is tolerated.
  2. Oil the skin. Warm 3–5 drops between palms. Massage into the skin under the beard for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Distribute. Use a wide-tooth comb or boar-bristle brush. Pull gently; no scraping.
  4. Notice. If there is redness, flaking, soreness, or itching, pause the essential-oil blend and use plain jojoba only.
Once a week

Deep beard treatment

  1. Warm coconut oil. Use a small amount—enough to coat, not saturate. Optional: a little honey + aloe.
  2. Massage. Work it into beard and skin. Keep it away from eyes and lips.
  3. Wait 20–45 min. Rinse lightly. No need for an aggressive shampoo unless it feels coated.
  4. Return to daily oil. A few drops after the rinse, then brush through.
Safety before scent

Stop and check.

  • Patch-test a diluted blend on a small area for 24–48 hours before using it on scalp or face.
  • Never apply undiluted essential oil, and never put essential oils near eyes, lips, nostrils, or broken skin.
  • Burning, rash, swelling, persistent itching, or new flaking means: rinse, stop the blend, and use plain carrier oil only.
  • Sudden shedding, patchy loss, pain, scaling, sores, or a changing hairline deserves a dermatologist—not a stronger DIY blend.
